What is The Survival Protein?

Our bodies are built to survive—even at all costs. But what does this mean, and how does the body’s survival response impact health and longevity?  

In simple terms, it means that our biochemical reactions to stressful events and triggers—our innate survival responses—can actually damage health. This isn’t a secret—the links between stress and disease are well established, showing how chronic stress can fuel cardiovascular disease, cancer, autoimmune conditions, and much more. 

What many people don’t know, however, is that there is one key protein produced by the body that drives our biochemical stress responses—and also fuels our most deadly and debilitating conditions: Galectin-3, aka the survival protein.  

What is Galectin-3? 

While you may have not heard of galectin-3, thousands of published scientific studies show that when it gets out of control, it activates and drive numerous disease processes, and shortens your life.
