In Vivo Results: Formula Safely Fights Breast Cancer & Metastasis
Growth, invasion, metastasis—these are the aggressive traits that make cancer so deadly. In fact, 90 percent of cancer deaths result from metastasis, not the primary tumor. As an integrative cancer specialist, researcher and product formulator, much of my work targets the metastatic process.
A main objective of any cancer treatment program is to prevent this deadly disease progression, or slow it to a halt once it begins. However, once cancer spreads, it becomes much more invasive and difficult to treat.
Breast Cancer Formula Slows Tumor Growth
That’s why this study on my integrative breast cancer formula is so important. Presented at the 2012 American Association of Cancer Researchers meeting in Chicago, this study demonstrated the formula’s ability to slow primary tumor growth in breast cancer models. But more importantly, it showed how the formula significantly inhibits the metastatic process.
Breast Cancer Formula Suppresses Metastasis
The study was done at Indiana University Health Cancer Research Laboratory, where scientists have been investigating ways to limit cancer’s invasiveness. Working with highly invasive human breast cancer in mice (triple negative breast cancer), the researchers tested my unique breast-care formula — a mixture of botanically enhanced medicinal mushrooms, nutrients and herbal extracts — to determine if it could slow the cancer’s deadly growth. It did, significantly. This is now the third study to demonstrate the ability of this formula to fight invasive breast cancer and metastasis, safely without toxicity.
“Our results are very exciting because we clearly demonstrate the suppression of breast to lung cancer metastasis,” says Daniel Sliva, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine and lead researcher on the study.
Breast Cancer Formula Controls Genetic Expression
Included in the blend are medicinal mushrooms Coriolus versicolor, Ganoderma lucidum and Phellinus linteus; Chinese skullcap (Scutellaria barbata), quercetin (a botanical flavonoid), Astragalus root (Astragalus membranaceus), curcumin (Curcuma longa), and DIM (an active ingredient derived from cruciferous vegetables).
The study found that the formula’s ingredients work by turning off several genes implicated in invasive breast cancer. uPA and CXCR4 are two primary genes which influence the metastatic process. The targeted ingredients in this formula demonstrated the ability to decrease the expression of uPA and CXCR4, thereby significantly reducing tumor growth and metastasis. Equally impressive, the formula showed none of the toxicity so common in traditional cancer therapies.
Breast Cancer Formula Provides Immune & Hormonal Support
These ingredients are also known for their ability to support the immune system, and promote healthy hormone metabolism. Additional benefits such as these are critical to a successful integrative breast cancer protocol.
“Here, we show that the formula is not toxic, significantly suppresses increase in tumor sizes and inhibits breast-to-lung cancer metastasis,” says Dr. Sliva. “This formula can be a biological therapeutic agent against invasive breast cancer, including the aggressive triple negative breast cancer. It can potentially increase survival of breast cancer patients.”
A Leading Advancement in Cancer Therapy
Highly aggressive breast cancer often leaves few options for treatment. With the help of this formula however, patients may be able to increase the effectiveness of their current protocol, or protect against metastasis with a strategic combination of complementary and alternative approaches.
Continued research on this formula is currently underway. Preliminary results are showing equal promise in further validating this comprehensive blend, as a supportive adjunct in the prevention and treatment of metastatic breast cancer.
